Hummingbirds

This year, Spring was a difficult time for me, mostly because I was losing my cat (and longtime friend), Rosie.

But the world seems to be trying all the time to remind me that life is a circle.

During the same time Rosie was slowly leaving this world, these little hummingbirds were arriving. They have been a delight I am happy to share.

That is so beautiful and amazing! I can’t believe they nested within sight, and that you were able to capture it on video. I’ve never seen baby hummingbirds before.

Thank you so much for sharing this. I love hummingbirds, and like most have never seen the babies. I too am amazed they let you so close and nested within sight. I wonder though if they are bolder than we think, as a couple summers ago my boyfriend and I were able to get very close to a feeder at the cabin and photograph them for quite a while. Maybe we just think they’re shy because they are so small and delicate?

  4. That is amazing stuff. Thanks for sharing.

Hi Cheryl: both the Hummingbirds and the Nurturance stories – outstanding – the best I’ve seen. Janice

Those babies are great and your storytelling even better.

Hey, thanks everybody. Yeah, Lorika, I don’t think they’re incredibly shy, because if I’m between them and the feeder they will buzz me. Sounds like a helicopter in your ear. The babies flew away during Pixelodeon but they must have stayed nearby because I see them at the feeder. At least I assume it is them because they are smaller than the others. Yay hummingbirds!
